DAY 2: SPORT AND LEISURE
Activity 1: Faster than a speeding bullet
Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce comes from Jamaica, a small country in the Caribbean. She is a famous sprinter. She is the fastest woman to run 100 metres.
You can compare her fast running to other fast things, like “Shelly-Ann is as fast as a cheetah.” These are called similes.
Please create three new similes. You can use the starters below or you can make up your own.
… is as fast as… (eg: The car is as fast as a lightning bolt.)
… is as tall as…
… is as small as…
On your blog, share your similes.

ReplyDeleteMy name is Mikey. I'm a member of the Summer Learning Journey team this year and I'll be commenting on some of your blog post over the summer. Well done for getting started on the teaser week activities! I'm so pleased that you've decided to take part in the programme this year. :)
Wow, imagine if it were possible for a person to be as fast as a bullet! You wouldn't even seen them run passed you. You've come up with some great similes here, Logan. I'd love to hear a few more slightly different ones - maybe about how small something is? Or how tall? You don't have to use Shelly-Ann either, you could talk about anything!
Congratulations again on completing your first teaser task! Remember that the programme officially begins next Monday (December 16th), so be sure to check out the Week 1 activities on our website then. In the meantime, keep going with the teaser week activities - I'd love to see some more posts from you. :)
Bye for now,
Mikey
