Lesson 3 cybersmart

Last week and this week during cybersmart time we have been looking at how we reply to comments on our blog. we used a program called book creator to help teach others what a spam comment is and how to have an online conversation. you can find link to the lesson here

what I know about spam on a blog is that a comment is often left by someone unknown or a spam bot. there name has a link on it and you can go to there blog to see if it is a spam or not. here is a slide with same helpful tips Slide #3

to have a good online conversation you need to ask a question and answer open questions . the question that you ask will lead to more questions asked about your topic.

be wear my book is not finished so it is not that good.

click here to view my book

Here is what a cover looks like

before this lesson I had no idea what a spam was and how to start a good conversion

this was the second time i have used book creator so it was hard.

Have you mad a book creator before if you have can you please send it.

Blog commenting

What I know about blog commenting is that you have to say something that you like about there post, ask them a question, use capital letters and full stops, uses describing words. Say something thoughtful positive and something helpful. Introduce your self and say something about you. Tell them something they need to work on. Comment and share you opinion.

Can help people improve their skills

Last week we learnt how to put a link in to a comment.

Insert display text here

Where it says insert URL here, you delete and paste the link.

Where it says insert display text here, you delete and write what you want it to say e.g. ¨Click here to listen/watch/read¨

Can you leave me a comment with a link? you can chooses if you want to have a go.

Help Wanted

Ahoy matey! Our school theme for this term is pirates and we have been learning how to persuade people to join our pirate crew. Here is what I did with my friend Noah. The job that we were trying to persuade people to do is be a lookout in the crows nest. Here is what we wrote.

                                                 Help Wanted

Ahoy matey!
Are you a man looking for a job or something to do?
Do you wish to build a bigger relationship with people?

Well join the Scrubadoons!
We drink rum and eat beautiful roast chicken for breakfast to get us going.
We have daily sword fight practice and daily gun shooting practice.
We have many jobs, such as, looking from the crows nest, manning the cannons and cooking the meals.

Warning …
If you do a bad job or blow up the ship Long Irish Ginger will kill you. If you're not already dead and there is a monkey on our ship it might attack you. If you try to betray us we will throw you over board or have you hanged from the crows nest . But don't let this put you off.

Payment includes a bed (but beware sometimes it floods and it gets really cold at night) and 26% of any treasure that we find if you would like we can get you unlimited supply of anything ( including frozen coke). We will also provide you with weapons for battles including bombs and guns.

You will join us on our next adventure to Treasure Island.
But beware if you get lost or leave us we will leave you behind on the island!

Contact Cutlass Plank at the Long Irish Ginger hotel if you are interested.
(He will be the one sleeping at the front desk with an empty bottle of rum in his hand.)

Information report on dingo

Today I get told to chose an animal to do a report on and I choose dingo hope you learn something about dingo's in this report

The classification of a dingo.
The dingo is a mammal and a mammal is a warm-blooded vertebrate animal of a class that is distinguished by the possession of hair or fur.

Habitat of a dingo.
Dingoes are from harsh deserts to lush rain forests. The highly adaptable dingo is found in every habitat and state of Australia except Tasmania. Dingoes favor edges of forests next to grasslands. In deserts access to drinking water determines where the animal can live.

Physical features
A dingo's body fur is short while the tail is quite bushy. Its dog-like appearance, with a relatively broad head and erect ears, makes the Dingo Australia's largest mammal carnivore. With canine teeth longer than those of a domestic dog the dingo's muzzle is also longer and tapered.

Food
Dingoes hunt alone or in big packs. They pursue small game such as rabbits, rodents, birds, and lizards. These dogs will eat fruits and plants as well.

Social behavior
While young males are often solitary and nomadic in nature, breeding adults often form a settled pack. However, in areas of the dingo's habitat with a widely spaced population, breeding pairs remain together, apart from others.

Predators of a dingo
Because of their large size and dominant nature of the dingo, they have no real predators within their natural environment, besides humans who are responsible for the destruction of the dingo's habitat, and the odd crocodile. Dingoes breed once a year, generally before August in the south and after August in the north.

Man & animal
While dingoes have the potential to be dangerous to humans, in reality, the incidence of attacks on humans is relatively rare. The risk of dangerous behavior is greatly increased in dingoes that have become habituated to humans through feeding or other encouragement.
